How to get here?

São José das Matas - Evendos, Mação, Portugal

Casa do Tempo is located in Envendos - Mação and near Belver/Gavião, in the heart of the country, in a quiet rural area surrounded by nature. Access is easy, and the roads are in good condition. 

🚘 From Lisbon (about 1h45)

Leave Lisbon via the A1 towards Torres Novas.
Take the A23 (exit 7) towards Abrantes / Castelo Branco.
Exit at Envendos/São José das Matas (exit 14) and follow the signs São José das Matas (2km)

🚘 From Beira Interior ( 1hr Covilhã/Fudnão and 45 min Castelo Branco))
Take the A23 towards Abrantes / Torres Novas.
Exit at Envendos/São José das Matas (14) and follow the road to São José das Matas.

🚘 From Porto (about 2 hours and 30 minutes)

Take the A1 to Coimbra Sul.
Take the A13 towards Tomar/Abrantes.
Continue on the A23 until exit at Envendos/São José das Matas (exit 14) and follow the signs São José das Matas (2km)

🚆 By train
The nearest train station is Barca da Amieira/Envendos, located about 10 minutes by car from A Casa do Tempo. This line connects Lisbon (Santa Apolónia or Oriente) and Entroncamento to Beira Baixa.

How to get there:
From Lisbon – Santa Apolónia or Oriente → Intercidades da Beira Baixa train, towards Castelo Branco / Covilhã.
Stop at Barca da Amieira/Envendos

Note: there isn't mobile network or wifi at this train station.

🚘 From the Algarve (about 4 hours)

Take the A2 to Lisbon, then the A12/A13 to Santarém/Torres Novas.
Take the A23 towards Abrantes / Castelo Branco.
Exit at Envendos/São José das Matas (exit 14) and follow to São José das Matas

Tip: 
The train journey along the Tagus River is one of the most beautiful in Portugal, it is worth taking your time and enjoying the scenery.
