Testimonials

It is a place I plan to return to again and again.

"Casa do Tempo remains a secret, a private and intimate space where you will be nourished by a magical healing food forest, a dipping pool, a teaching dome, delicious food, and a profound richness of nature. It is somewhere I plan to return to again and again. Maria Ana, her family/friends are welcoming, generous with their time and their expertise, and terrific company. There is a gentleness there that is very rare. If you don’t know this corner of (Central Western?) Portugal, you are in for a treat, and if you do, you will meet authentic Portuguese people living their lives beyond the tourist centers. Get out of the city and come spend the hottest day of the year in a paradise garden, reconnecting with your body and earth, and relaxing. One hour and 45 minutes from Lisbon Airport. Take the slow train. Spoil yourself. Rediscover your soul and joy."

It's no wonder they call it the House of Time.

"There, within those thick walls from another era, time seems to stretch out without limits and everything invites us to enjoy each moment to the fullest. The house has its own peaceful and welcoming atmosphere, which is reflected in every corner, in every detail of the simple and refined decor. There, there is time for long nights of sleep, for reading by the fireplace, for dips in the pool, for conversations around the dining table, whether inside or outside the house, for walks in the garden and for discovering the jewel in the crown: the edible forest that surprises us with its diversity and richness and invites us to look at our time in a more responsible and ecological way. And then there is the Tagus River nearby, crystal clear waterfalls hidden in secret places, simple people with disarming friendliness, and a world to discover... with time! Ah! I almost forgot to mention Maria Ana, the hostess who welcomes us with great kindness, who reveals the secrets of the house and the region to us, and who shares her passion with us. But you'll find that out when you get there."

Top. 5 stars

"My stay at Casa do Campo was a relaxing and enriching experience. I was able to enjoy the comfort of the house and walk to a river beach at the peak of the heat, as well as learn from our host about edible forests and taste some delicious vegetables at lunch. Top. 5 stars."

Time that connects you to knowledge and flavor.

"Casa do Tempo. Time that connects knowledge and taste. Minutes, hours, and days of pleasure. The pleasure of doing. The pleasure of the senses. The pleasure of enjoying. You can stay. You can build a bridge between arriving and leaving. Without artificial intelligence based on what has been accumulated, but with the relationship of shared intelligence. You can experience what the community of difference is and the diversity of what is yours and what is others'. The sharing of silences, of smiles, because it is different, of conversations between people, because they exist. The House of Time, staying, is the remedy for the hustle and bustle of city life, the table for the encounter between you and your daily construction. From the pool to the encounter with new knowledge rooted in the generous land, where you learn to cherish its generosity. From the corners where your gaze can stretch across the cork oak paths or along the banks of the Tagus, or in the hills of the upper Alentejo. You can stay or leave, but you can always come back."

To return soon and explore more

"I loved Casa do Tempo, the house is comfortable and has good natural light, and of course, I fell in love with the view from the kitchen window. The outdoor area is private, where we had lunch with our host Maria Ana and had the opportunity to taste some of the products harvested from Casa do Tempo's organic forest, which were delicious. The area surrounding the house also has a lot to offer. We just went for a kartcross ride and visited the river beach, but it definitely whetted our appetite to come back soon and explore more. The name chosen for the house fits it like a glove! It makes us linger over the experiences we had there, without rushing 😄"

A place where magic happens.

"A Casa do Tempo is a place where magic happens. One wakes up to the aroma of freshly brewed coffee and a home-cooked breakfast. Stepping outside, one enters a lovely, colorful garden where a Greek-blue swimming pool awaits you (weather permitting). There is silence, even stillness. Only birds and the odd car can be heard. This is magic and priceless in the era of AI. Who wants to go back to "civilization" and its stressful pace when one can pick the fruits and vegetables from the property's Food Forest, swim in neighboring river beaches, or simply read a novel under a tree. In the evening, have a nice shared home-cooked dinner, gaze at the stars, or engage in stimulating conversations with the house's globetrotter owner. I had all this when I stayed at Casa do Tempo. A place to return to. Definitely."
